TOWN OF ULSTER
2020 NOTICE OF RECEIPT OF TAX ROLL AND WARRANT
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE, that I, the undersigned Ulster Town
Clerk, Town of Ulster, Ulster County, New York, have duly received the tax roll
and warrant for the collection of taxes for the present fiscal year, and that I
will host collection hours at the Ulster Town Hall, 1 Town Hall Drive, Lake
Katrine, NY, from January 2, 2020 to January 31, 2020 from 8 AM until 4 PM,
Monday to Friday and Saturdays, January 4, 11, 18, and 25, 2020 from 9 AM to
NOON, excepting Sundays and holidays, for the purpose of receiving taxes listed
on such roll. Furthermore, the office will be open for collection of the taxes
from February 1, 2020 until May 31, 2020 between the hours of 8 AM and 4 PM,
excepting Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. Tax payments can be paid in the
following manner: 1. Mailed to: Town of Ulster, c/o TBOGC, P.O. Box 618, Lake
Katrine, NY 12449; 2. Mailed to: Town of Ulster Tax Collector, 1 Town Hall
Drive, Lake Katrine, NY 12449; 3. In person at the Town of Ulster Town Hall, 1
Town Hall Drive, Lake Katrine.
TAKE FURTHER NOTICE: Taxes may be paid on or before January
31, 2020 without charge or interest. On all such taxes remaining unpaid after
said January 31, 2020 a penalty of one percent will be added for the balance of
the first month (February) and an additional one percent added for each month
or fraction thereof thereafter until May 31, 2020 when the return of unpaid
taxes is made by the Town Clerk to the Ulster County Department of Finance,
pursuant to law. Also, a $22.00 charge will be imposed by the collector, for
all returned checks in addition to tax and interest amount.
TAKE FURTHER NOTICE: Article X Section 987 of the New York
State Real Property Tax Law mandates a notice be sent to delinquent taxpayers
not later than 85 days after the January interest free period with a mandatory
$2.00 fee. This must be included in the payment plus the interest for that
month or the payment will be returned to the taxpayer for the correct amount.
INSTALLMENT PAYMENTS: The first and second installments (1/2
of tax) can be paid without interest up to and including January 31, 2020.
After that date, installments (1/2 of tax) must include interest at the rate of
one percent for each month, or fraction thereof, until May 31, 2020, at which
time the return of unpaid taxes is made by the Town Clerk to the Ulster County
Department of Finance.
