TOWN OF ULSTER - 2015 NOTICE OF RECEIPT OF TAX ROLL AND WARRANT
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that I, the undersigned Ulster Town Clerk, Town
of Ulster, Ulster County, New York, have duly received the tax roll and warrant
for the collection of taxes for the present fiscal year, and that I will host
collection hours at the Ulster Town Hall, 1 Town Hall Drive, Lake Katrine, NY,
from January 2, 2015 to January 31, 2015 from 8 AM until 4 PM, Monday to Friday
and Saturdays, January 10, 17, 24, and 31 2014 from 9 AM to noon, excepting
Sundays and holidays, for the purpose of receiving taxes listed on such roll.
Furthermore, the office will be open for collection of the taxes from February
1, 2015 to June 1, 2015, excepting Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays between the
hours of 8 AM and 4 PM. Tax payments can be mailed to: Town of Ulster,
Dept. 117207, P.O. Box 5270, Binghamton, NY 13902-5270.
TAKE FURTHER NOTICE: Taxes may be paid on or before January 31,
2015 without charge or interest. On all such taxes remaining unpaid after said
January 31, 2015, a penalty of one percentum will be added for the balance of
the first month (February) and an additional one percentum added for each month
or fraction thereof thereafter until June 1, 2015 when the return of unpaid
taxes is made by the Town Clerk to the Ulster Country Department of Finance,
pursuant to law. Also, a $20.00 charge will be imposed by the collector for all
returned checks in addition to tax and interest amount.
TAKE FURTHER NOTICE: Article X Section 987 of the New
York State Real Property Tax Law mandates a notice be sent to delinquent
taxpayers not later than 85 days after the January interest free period
with a mandatory $2 fee. This must be included in the payment plus the
interest for that month or the payment will be returned to the taxpayer
for the correct amount.
INSTALLMENT PAYMENTS: The first and second installments (1/2 of
tax) can be paid without interest up to, and including, January 31, 2015.
After that date, installments (1/2 of tax) must include interest at the rate of
one percentum for each month, or fraction hereof, until June 1, 2015, at which
time the return of unpaid taxes is made by the Town Clerk to the Ulster County
Department of Finance.
